Music in the Park
This weekly event in the Village Park was expanded this summer to include more dates and a new finale, a talent contest. Music in the Park is sponsored by the CLCBA, Benzie Chamber & Visitors Bureau and the Village of Beulah and other local businesses and individuals. Audience members show their appreciation as a “Pass the Hat” free will donation helps offset the costs of the event. Thanks to Roger Russo for helping MC the Talent Show, providing equipment and also for performing for the enjoyment of everyone. There were also events at Crystal Lake Elementary and in Benzonia. The group also sponsored the Crystal Lake Team Marathon in August. 87 teams of 5 runners came from all over the state to compete. The event coincided with the openings of the Olympics in Beijing and was written up in Michigan Runner magazine. Upcoming events for the CLCBA will be Moonlight Madness shopping in November, Christmas Magic in December and Winter Fest in February. Visit their web site to learn more on these events as well as signing up for the chili cook-off. Also, the Benzie Chamber's website has information on more Benzie County wide events. |
